I don't know if the greasemonkeys themseleves are pocketing the bills because they did show a printed receipt for the fuel filter so there is a paper trail. But, maybe they get kickbacks from the "I'm a customer" district manager.

So, guys who change oil for a living are dishonest? Say it ain't so.

moreover; it can happen anywhere. Doesn't matter if it is a business chains, self-own, or maybe dealerships. You will never know. These days people would do anything just to earn the bucks. The best way is refers or just do-it-yourself if you can.

anyways, good informative report from nbc4

if a check engine light comes on someone messed up somewhere. the maint required light will come on eventually if the mileage counter between required maintenance is not reset when the oil change is done.

i go to a jiffy lube near my house and those guys are 1st rate. they not only know their stuff, but have a genuine interest in cars and mechanics. They even remember my name from one visit to the next. They happily use whatever oil/filter I pull out of my trunk and discount the cost of the fluids they would n ormally use accordingly.

They let me hang out in the bay while they are working and like to chat about cars and racing and such. So I know they're doing the work since I'm watching.

It all just comes down to the individual people at each location. Some people are dishonest ****s. Some aren't.
