I live in Mountain View... have always been interested in going to an auto-cross event, but never really knew where to start or what to do. Anyone know how to go about finding more info about auto-x events in the area? Thanks for any help!

 

There's a few different sanctioning bodies these days, but probably the biggest is the SCCA. You can check out the SFR (San Francisco Region) at http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/

 

SCCA is doing the first event of the season this sunday at Oakland's Colliseum. B-stock (what S2K's run in) should run between 11am-1pm. Feel free to drop by and ask on-grid if you can ride with them. Chances are they'll be willing to on their first and maybe second run (but not third). You'll need a helmet but they have loaners at the camper.
