insurance question
If I get a DD and claim my S as a weekend car with my insurance, and if I got into an accident with my S in a weekday, will my insurance covers my S. Since insurance companies always make you think that something is covered, even if it's not. It's their way of playing with words.
Well like I said, the question might be stupid, but I just want to know. Thanks.

I was under the impression that these "weekend car" type of policies were ones that limited the amount of mileage you're supposed to put on the car per year, not actually limit you to driving your cars on specific days of the week.

That is exactly where they get you. I have my S as a weekend car with my Accord as daily driver. I can only drive the S 5k miles/yr.
If you are not at fault in an accident... it doesn't matter what miles are on the car.
If you are the one at fault, they can disqualify an insurance payout because you exceeded your miles. Obviously it is very easy for them to do reverse math on your miles.
What would probably end up happening, is you would pay the difference in premiums between daily driver and Xk miles/yr weekend car. There is nothing in the plan that states this (at least with mine), this just seems like it would be an obvious solution.
That being said, when you are at fault in accident... would you want to be worrying about THIS, on top of everything else that is going on? I wouldn't.
My advice would be to ask for more miles but keep the S as a "weekend" car.

i couldn't make my s a weekend car i drive to much, how much more do you save for a weekend car anyways?
You being a fireman... multicar policy... I could see it also happening to you (I'm an engineer so same thing in the insurance people's eyes). If you get homeowners insurance on the same policy that helps also.

yeah... when I bought my coverage, it said I wasn't encouraged to exceed 2K mi /year.
yea, i plan to get another car for commuting to work. the S will be night and weekend. may be 5k mi/year is good enough.
