depends on the insurance company...i know for a fact that many insurance companies do not cover "timed" track events. i've also heard that wawanesa insurance company does cover track but not sure to what extent or events.....

Generally, Insurance companies do not cover "track accidents".
Unless of course you specifically mentioned (or wrote in your policy)
that you'll be using your car for that purpose then they charge you high premium.
This is why Insurance companies ask you how you're going to use your car, i.e.
business, school etc. In addition, they ask the distance from your house to your
place of work (for example)

I can't speak for other insurance companies, but mine does cover track events as long as they are not timed and are not for competition.
