Its probably a DARE bike. Otherwise SJPD would have had these so fast. They are getting SCHOOLED by biker club initiations.

My friend is CHP and he said he doesn't even turn on his sirens... he just tries to get a picture, reports the description and hopes someone else spots him later.

No cop is going to go catching people at high speeds on a motorcycle, thats just suicide. Although I did see a cop try it on one of those police chase shows. After the dude try to swerve into him, he backed off stopped chasing.

That is actually a real police bike. It supposedly got confiscated and they turned it into that thing. I would never want one of those things for a whole shift. The guys that ride will tell you on long rides on a sport bike your body take a decent amount of wear. Imagine riding one of those bikes for a 12 hour shift, hell no. And I have been riding for a very long time, and still would not do that. Its still cool though, would be more cool if it was a liter bike like a GSXR or R1.

That would be pretty hard to spot in the mirrors until the lights come on.

Yeah, in Hawaii, for some reason the police seem to roll around in various unmarked cars. You'ld see them pull over people with just a blue light on. Pretty sneaky!

And the other thing I couldn't figure out was that on Oahu, I never saw cop cars other than Honolulu police cars. You could be in another town nowhere near Honolulu, and you'ld see Honolulu police cars driving around.
Yeah like Aaron said. Really only the rookie's drive the marked (blue and whites in hawaii) cars. And Honolulu Police department (HPD) is the whole island of Oahu. And some of these cops drive some pretty decked out cars. I know many years ago (in my stupid days) there was a cop that drove a white SC cobra with pretty much every bolt on and some juice. He stayed with me for a little bit when I was running from him on my 750. Keep in mind that this was many years ago when 120hp to the wheel is a good amount for a street gsxr 750. My neighbor just bought the new challenger srt8 and it already dropped, exhaust, HID's.

i saw the formentioned bike on TV a couple of years ago. The department got the bike by imponding one and fixed it up with interceptor badges and an officer used it on patrol. Lucky department!!

I dunno where they got the bikes but they have at least 5 of them setup the same way. NO it's not SJPD DARE bikes....haha

Keep in mind these are the older 1st gen Hayabusa's like my white one. I just saw another police department using the 2nd gen versions like my new blue one!

here's the side view:
