mike harvey honda is a retarded dealership. granted, i got a good deal from there but they are hard to deal with.

when i requested to have them provide me with the front bumper license bracket, the mechanic decided to cut a hole in the bumper instead of taking it off to properly install the screw housing for the bracket. of course, it looked fine with the bracket on, but when i took it off, there was 2 perfect oem holes on one side, and a large jagged hole on the other side. after an hour of arguing how i couldn't have possibly done that, they replaced the bumper.

this leads me to their "honda authorized AAA approved" body shop. the shop manager was not receptive to the situation and treated me like it was my fault. so now, i can't claim i have the original bumper as the dumbass mechanic decided to ruin it. on the other hand, i got a brand new bumper at no cost.

thanks!!

On a side note, I purchased my '02 BB from Hopkins back in May, and it has a hole in the top which they would not warranty. Also didn't notice at the time, but Mac mentioned a few weeks ago that he could tell it was repainted in some areas, which really worries me since there were a lot of minor dings here and there...and b/c the salesman kept offering to show me the carfax after I pointed out all that was wrong with it.

Kinda makes you wonder if they really know what they are selling you
Yeah, it drives me nuts. I hate used cars for this reason. I'm sure there are clean ones out there but I had a lot of trouble finding them. Almost forced me to spend way too much on a new 08 CR Unfortunately, I'm sure they do know what they are selling you

(BTW, if anyone is looking for an 08 CR, brand new, there is a black one and a yellow one at Sunset Honda in SLO. I got them down to $31500 over email, I bet you could do better if you really push them on the last day of the month,)

You know, that was what was killing me! Several of the cars I looked at were certified!

crazy huh? But yeah, I mean, to a knowledgable eye, they were clearly in accidents... The red one was repaired pretty nicely, and it looked fine cosmetically... but dang, the steering really felt off.

I mean, this isn't to say that I haven't ever had a minor bumper respray on any of my cars... or that minor damage on a used car would really bug me. Things happen. But, when a car has been wrecked hard enough to require the bumper, radiator support, radiator, fans, etc to be replaced, that's a decently hard hit.

Even the white on black on at Anderson that sold in like 2-3 days had a bumper respray.
Yeah, the front bumper on my CPO had a respray too. I didn't notice it, because I was too busy looking for real damage. Otherwise, I could have negotiated a way better price. CPO doesn't mean anything except the warranty part. It does not mean that it is like new at all.
