I had the piping done from the resonator back because I was a bit worried about loudness and many people recommended that I kept the resonator. He used a pretty short piece of mandrel bent pipe.
Deep sounding and very loud!! I've only hit vtec only once since getting it since I keep driving in traffic. There is a bit of drone as well. Overall I am happy.

Did you buy the car used?
If so.. it could have been in an accident and that's a marking from the junkyard. Or a simple marking that came on the car.
I have the markings from a junkyard on mine =/.
