How about car insurance, telephone, PG@E, clothing, maintenence (car @ home), cable. Forget about entertainment, he's lucky to have cable tv. I spend like at least $500 a month on food, that would hypothetically leave him with $200 on all these expenses.

I have to take my hat off for this man.

That doesn't seem like *that* tight of a budget...thanks to private school tuition, I only end up with maybe $400-$600 each month after fixed expenses. With that amount of spending cash, I can't go out and buy whatever the Hell I want, but it's more than enough to have a good time. As long as you spend carefully, it's not a problem. At any rate, that's just regular fixed income. Most folks get some additional income periodically, whether it be from bonuses, stock purchase plans, etc.

Damn you guys are young! I'm 26 and from this thread, it sounds like I'm one of the older owners!

Ack, how much $ have your parents put up towards your growth and education? I bet they could have easily afforded a few luxury cars in lieu of you just like any of our parents could have.

LoL, when I was 20
I was only making a little of 20k a year and back then I was making more than anyone I knew.

My rent in the bay is 25k a year. That's crazy!
