Default How often do you get an alignment?

Two questions

1) I wondering how often people get an alignment in the Bay Area...
2) The front of my car seems a bit "floaty" under spirited acceleration - possible causes? (All I can think is of is alignment but honestly could just be me)

I had an alignment about 4k miles or 9 months ago with new tires (star spec II) but I know I have hit more than one pot hole since then. I drive mostly South Bay surface roads with a run up skyline once or twice a month.

I feel like I rarely do it. Every time I have done it its pretty much dialed in. Auto innovations in my shop for the job.

Auto innovations did the alignment and tires for me, I had them do stuff on my MR2 as well they do quality work.

My thoughts are it doesn't come out of spec unless you're hitting some pretty nasty bumps. I've run 3 different alignment specs, stock, UK and UK but design for curve in road. I'm back to US spec (if I recall).

I look for uneven tire wear before my next alignment will be done.

u generally don't need an allignment unless you change the suspension or hit something good (like a nasty pothole). U will notice bad allignemnt by teh way the tyres are wearing (but thi$ will take time)

The S suspension isn't that stiff, the S floats all the time not just under heavy accel with stock suspension... just my opinion.

For those that go to Auto Innovations, how much do they charge for an S2000? Also, since Orlando owns (or owned?) an S2000, did he recommend a certain type of alignment or did you go in with a custom one? Thanks in advance!

It's like getting a haircut. You need to tell them what you want. OEM or bring your own specs. UK spec alignment seems popular. I bring my own specs based on what I've found works with my setup.

Pretty sure $80 in the standard custom-spec price. It's a bit cheaper for stock specs.
