115 db is quite a lot... close to a jet taking off a few hundred feet from you... or a really loud place like a concert

It is at the upper echelon of ricey exhausts! j/k

To really compare, it helps to compare things with the same frequency range.

Many car audio systems are WAY over 115dB inside the car.

A stock exhaust is usually well under 100dB at close range.

Really, you need to specify the distance at which you measure. Otherwise, the whole discussion is pointless.

Way louder than a car horn, 115db will cause hearing damage. Its like sitting in a car with a loud sound system. you can buy a sound level meter from radio shack, and test the sound source yourself. like a S-2000 with no mufflers.
