if you live in an enhanced region (like sac and he bay area) you can go to any smog (bar97) location. I did that when the bay became bar97. I went to sac cuz they have 19.99 specials all day.
I didn't know you could go to any bar97 station if you live in an enhanced area? So all of this thread is for not... ROFL. Well at least I learned something new today!

Also I learned something else today as well... SMOG charges $10 more if your car is older than 1995 now. Part of the "they want to charge me $10 more so I will buy a newer car which costs $20k but pollutes less" mentality, I guess.

Sure, but why are you asking me? I told you 25X I cannot prescribe you drugs. I only sell Go Fast Crack. If you took your Ritalin you would remember, such a vicious cycle this has become.

BTW you have email waiting for you. Don't N*Asteroid yourself too hard. SFW.

My beater needs a smog and I never received the reg in the mail. How do I find out if I go to test only vs smog repair test shop (besides waiting in line at the DMV)?

Did the DMV standardize on "even year" cars going to Test Only and "odd year" cars going to repair test shop?

Just trying to prevent looking like a noob at the smog shop...

TIA
dude, you need answer to questions like this you need to ask a smog tech (or shop).

so.. i will answer.

http://www.bar.ca.gov/applications/V...PubTstQry.aspx

put your vin or lic plate # in and it will show your history and if your test only or not.

More or less anything <1996 will need a test only.
