Default Hood Issue After Shipping Car [pics]

The good news: the car made it from the east coast.

Bad news...the hood doesn't seem to close flush anymore and I have no idea why. Obviously come monday I will file a claim with the car shipping company. However, I am at a loss to figure out why the hood won't sit flush anymore.

It seems to be locking fine and I can push it down. Is there something special about the locking mechanism of the hood?

Haven't had a chance to wash the car yet since I just got it so don't mind all the dirt. Thanks in advance all

Does the hood latch look normal? Does the hood look like it was damaged or bent a little? That's a lot of open space if it is closed. I be concerned driving like that in high speeds.

Hood latch looks normal.

The latch is a two stage latch. The first click down is leaves the hood about 1 inch from flush. Pushing it down further results in what you see in the pictures.

The latch I believe mounts with 3 bolts that allow you do adjust it somewhat. Check the latch and see if the bolts are loose or if there are any scratches on the latch indicating it moved.

Where do you live? If you are close to Burlingame, swing by Go Kart Racer later and we can take a look at it.

So it looks like you live in San Mateo right? That's pretty close to Burlingame.

it doesn't look like there was any other damage at all?

just the hood won't close right?

I would think that there would be some sort of damage to maybe hinges or something a bit more noticeable.

Sorry to hear... auto trailers are terrible. I put my car inside the semi on my cross country moves. Gave me a heart attack going in and coming out of the truck, but no damage.

Check buttom of your radiator support, probably damaged/pushed up from loading the car.
