HIN '09 Kick-Off [Feb 22]
**Word is that this is NOT an OFFICIAL HIN event. Just a bunch of HIN staff are holding their own lil charity drive. This seems legitimate due to the fact they actually did rent our the Chabot College parking lot, and a few reputable local performance companies have confirmed it, bought some booth space, and urges everyone to go.
I was thinking about sending my $25 to the email address to show/donate, but I don't know, what do you think guys? Thats all the information I can get about it. Seem legit? Wouldnt they need to fill out hella paperwork to throw something like this? This seems hella on the fly.
EDIT::
"There seems to be a lot of confusion about this event.
I made a point to try to find out about this event today since we've been asked to come out and support it, and I don't like to commit TunerPlayground to anything unless we know whats going on.
My contacts at HIN/AGP Media do not know about this event either. (An answer to the many reports of people calling their HIN contact, and the contact not knowing anything of this event)
Apparently this event is being thrown by a member of the HIN staff here in the sf bay area, it is not an official HIN event, not sanctioned by them or supported by their funds.
This is a charity event organized strictly by enthusiasts who work with or have worked with HIN. Jenny Chu is confirmed to attend (I spoke with her as well). The purpose of the event is to have a gathering in Hayward as a sort of precursor to the San Mateo HIN event.
That's what I know so far. I'm going to be considering how involved we want to be for this.
Hope that helps. "

Jei of Blacktraxx will have a booth there.
They confirmed it.
They have actual flyers at their shop.
And, lastly, I'll be there to support the Blacktrax family !

i heard HIN is not owned by AGP media anymore. it has been privately bought out. there used to be 22 shows a year across the country. now they have only 11. a lot of the old HIN staff is gone also. note the facilities that they use and the celebrities that they have come out. is that guy on the flyer even a celebrity?

Same here. I'll be there showing in the Blacktrax booth. Should be a good event. I'm hoping the weather holds up.
