so what happened, exactly? can you get them to pick off some other dealership's order?

That's what they were trying to do initially, but ended up the closest one they had was down south in LA.

He had his own Berlina 05' coming at the end of Oct, but was trying to fenagle (sp) one earlier.

It's all good, the dealership manager is a friend of mine, so I know he will take care of me.

Was just getting antsy that's all.

Finally my Berlina finally came in. Hunted that bastard down in El Cerrito. Picked it up at 9:30pm and drove till 12:30am. Already have 160 miles on it (had 14 to start off with). Lip, rear deck spoiler, hardtop, and other OEM doo dads on order. Weather permitting, really looking forward to Saturday.

Again thanks for the warm welcome guys!!

hahaha.
always deal with internet departments...
1) decide on model and options
2) email nearest dealers for quote
3) choose lowest price/dealer
4) set appointment time
5) arrive 10min late, test drive vehicle, and purchase

ha! I had similar experience with their salespeople there. tried to buy parents an odyssey there. salesperson said they had it. we went there, nothing in sight that even closely resembled what we wanted. earlier this year I went to look for s2000. they wouldn't even talk to me unless I was willing to pay over msrp, when everyone else was ASKING under msrp.

but hey, if you got a good deal there, congrats on your new car!

I got a decent deal from El Cerrito, also an interent deal. I was originally going to get it at San Leandro Honda as I know the Dealership Manager (plays on my friends softball team). But they wouldn't "play ball" with my friend and trade cars, so I had to go over there and buy it from them. It's all good though, I'm just happy I got it.
