Dont get me wrong joey knows HIS SHIT about s2ks... But joey does not drive his car hard... I could not do that to my baby... As much as i vtec my car.. I would be too worried about internal wear...
hey! i do. you just don't know it. sure i don't track my car. but i've done a good amount of time on twisties. i just don't anymore because thats how i crashed my first s2k. unsafe and careless. i was younger then. i've had my fair share of racing. trust me.

EDITED: i'm not saying its bad that people go on sprited drives or anything in that matter. of course theres track events and such but im so busy with other things and hobbies that i can't make the time to go. i really want to.

Straight from Joey:

I use Mobil 1 non-synthetic as it's my daily and I'm no track fiend, not boosted, and rarely push it REALLY hard. Saves money--after all.... it is a Honda

(*different situations if you track, or are boosted, so I'm not speaking for them)
i use shop oils for my daily. i had a 93 eg with a jdm b16a. i vtec all the time. everyone knows that a common honda engine burns oil more when you vtec. but if you change your oil regularly, and check it often. you're better off than the guy next to you that changes his oil every 10k. to me, i'd rather keep fresh oil frequent other than dirty, burnt smelling oil in my engine.

i tell this to customers when they decide on oils. i always say research! my s2k has mobile 1 synthetic. i know its not the greatest. but hey. you guys are right! i don't track the car and its sufficient enough for my usage. but for my new eg with a type R motor. i still use shop oil. i've never once had any problems with any of my 16 cars. all of my cars were all completely different honda engine setups (i.e. b20 vtec, single cams, all dual cams) different setups for different folks.

Joey, you've had 16 cars and I'm guessing all in the time that I've owned my Camry.
Check back with me when you've driven your car up and down 9 weekend after weekend and auto x'd your car for 2 1/2 years. The car has 230,000 miles and it still runs strong.
Burnt and smelling? nope!
Oct 1997 is when I bought my 98 Camry

You win

All I'm saying is that its safer for the avg person to change their oil regularly. I've seen customers that don't. Actually. There's a customer from s2ki that waited more than 5000 miles and he had roughly less than a qt of oil. Asked why his vtec didn't work.

And mac, do you ever sleep?
