It's weird, it does that to me like once in a while. Like today when I started my car it said 4 bars, then after 5 minutes it says 0 bars and the orange indicator comes on. Once I park my car, turn-off ignition and re-start my car and drive off for about another 5 minutes, 3 bars comes on like TADA!!! just kidding?? wtf!!?? But this is once in a while and today was a cold day and it was on a flat surface. And mine is a 2004

It does that at times on my 06, but never had it happen in any of my AP1's.

I got the same issue on my 05. Sometimes I fill the tank all the way and about 5 miles later, Im down 1 bar. Im not flooring the car whatsoever and most of the time, i lose 1 bar at around 21 miles in. I reset my trip meter whenever i fill my tank up too.

i have the same problem. I would fill up to full but sometimes it will show only 3/4 tank full... Sometimes I would see 1 bar and then all of sudden it will change to 4 bars. It's really weird...

has it anything to do with the gas cap as well? because I noticed that too myself. When I bought a new gas cap, my fuel guage doesnt fluxuate anymore. With the old gas cap I always full tank my S, and that last half bar isnt lit up. Now with the new one the full guage is completely lit up all the way.
