Default Help get E85 @ local Race Tracks

This is something I posted over @ my Evo forum but it has to do with anyone running on or interested in running E-85

http://evoempire.org/index.php?/topic/8789...775#entry151775

I'm not sure how many s2k's are on it but figured it was worth a shot

TIA

Good luck getting names here.

Few S2000's are turbo'ed and even fewer run E85.

your car needs to be tuned to run with E85. as we all know, if your not tuned you cant just switch it to. need bigger injections and maybe bigger fuel pump as well (depending on the case)

i dont know any single person, who is running e85 arround here

In your shoes, I would just bring my own gas to the track. Plenty of safe and low cost methods to do this.

You can get military fuel containers for about $20/each from cheaperthendirt.com They are 5 gallons each, so 3 of those plus a full tank should more then do you.

I've calculated it and seen what other Evo's have to use at the track

I'm looking at carrying 40 gallons not including the drive to the track and back home.
(for 100 minutes of track time)

while this is doable I'm confident we can at least get one E-85 station near one of the tracks

I was interested in getting E85 to the race track when I found I could make a little extra power (and save money) with E85 in my Honda Challenge car.

Due to the limited availability across the US it is no longer allowed for most of the classes in our series. The only class that allows it has a very small following (1.5 car in nor cal and neither would use e85).

You might want to contact a each of the race organisations to see what the potential usage from them is.

There is a law about how much fuel you can transport. I can't remember how much it is off the top of my head (I'm pretty sure its less than 55gal). Without a permit its a hefty fine.
