hey i currently live in saint louis and am thinking of moving back to cali but am a little hesitant because i have a modded s2k and iam originally from cali and i know how much the laws suck but my real question is there any track events for just an everyday guy such as myself to take there car too? Here in the stl you dont need to have a roll bar and such to play around in most events.
Correct me if i'm wrong, I think all cusco cages are illegal on track ... So to answer that part of your question, no, you don't need a roll cage to go on the track.

I don't think they're necessarily "illegal". It's just that if you were going to a track that did require aftermarket rollover protection, the cusco bar/cage wouldn't be up to the required standard/certification.

None of the aftermarket bar qualifies as being legal everywhere. The Hard-Dog bar is only approved in SCCA Solo2, which most of us have nothing to do with.

I been to every track in CA/NV and this is my expereince regarding roll bar / safty equipment.

None of the track requires you to have an aftermarket roll-over protection on a S2. This means, you can run the tracks with the stock roll hoops and oem 3 pt. seat belt.

You can use the cusco/safty21/hard-dog roll bar if you use the stock 3pt. seat belt.

If you decide to use a 5/6 pt. harness with your roll bar, NASA "may" not let you run due to the hight of the shoulder harness bar. (both Kel and myself have been told by NASA that the harness bar needs to be lower)

For any other HPDE organization (Speedventures, Redline), you can run the harness with your roll bar.

Oh.. and NASA Norcal Chap. requires you to run with the top down.

Edit: "Top Up -> Down"
