Default heat resistant wire?

The rubber piece connected to my rear hanger on my exhaust cannot fit onto the metal hook connected to my car due to an accident from long ago (the metal hook was jammed against the car).

I need to align my exhaust and I need something to hold the hanger upright. Does anyone know where I can get some sort of metal string or heat-resistant wire that I can use to tie the hanger to the hook? I can't use regular string or rope, since it would break over time. thanks

Chris,

Just go to any hardware store (I went to OSH) and look for the section where they have rope. I bought some braided metal rope. It worked fine for me.

haha thanks David.

I'll try the metal coat hanger for now. I think it should work well.

How do you plan to secure the metal hanger?

Just go to a muffler shop and have them custom tig weld up some hangers...no more than $20.
