Default Heads Up: *Streetable* Rear Diffuser Group Buy

Hey all,

Not sure if this is a no-no or not. Guess we'll find out. lol

Anyways, just FYI, Alloy Craft has a group buy going on right now for their rear Ap1 & Ap2 diffusers. Price is $250 shipped in the Continental US. Friend of mine, Lido(Something Something), has one on his widebody GPW Ap1. Some of you might have seen the car at the TI Meet a few weeks ago.

It's a quality piece and streetable, unlike most of the other diffusers on the market. Apparently, no mods are needed to install it, so it's a direct fit/bolt-on too.

Check out the group buy here:

thanks for the info. well, at least it's metal, so it should be more durable than carbon fiber or fiberglass/FRP diffusers. scraper effects & sparks = BONUS!!! seriously, $250 is dirt cheap for a diffuser anyway, so as long as it lasts me a year or two, I'll be happy.

Fitment is good but once it gets hot it will rattle as its two peices. I broke mine a while ago and don't feel like another one

It scrapes going in and out of most driveways

Also it makes it impossible to use the diff as a jack point

That's a deal breaker. How does it impact diff temperatures at the track? Seems like cooling will be sacrificed due to lack of free air flow around the diff fins. We only have 1qt of oil in there, and its getting hot as it is.

I had the Gladman diffusor (basically the same), and it does make diff oil changes harder because you have jack the whole car from the side points up to get stands on the rails and take the diffusor off. As for oil temps, I just changed more frequently and never any accelerated wear or cooked oil.

i asked, and Alloy Craft said the diffuser does not negatively affect cooling of the diff. they said they put a thermocouple in it during testing and saw no noticeable change in fluid temp.
