Default Heading up to SF this weekend

Whatsup guys!

I'm gonna be heading up from SoCal up to SF this weekend, and i wanted to get some suggestions on places to visit when i'm up in the area other than fisherman's wharf. Maybe like:

Places to eat
Scenic spots
Attractions
or, some spots that only locals might know?

Thanks in advance guys!

Twin peaks - great view if not foggy
Coit Tower

Nice Indian on fillmore - http://www.yelp.com/biz/kasa-indian-eatery...indian%20buffet

It's going to be cold so seeing the sunset beach might not be as nice.

North Beach has a bunch of 'Italian' cafes and eateries that you can enjoy.

If it's raining there are some museums and the legion of honor

Twin Peaks is nice for a night view of the city, if there is no fog.

The ice rink at the Embarcadero Center is open.

Adding this. If you ride the elevator up the Macy's center you can get on the roof. Even better at night is the one in the Westin hotel on the west side of the square.

Lights turn off and you're overlooking a lit square. Just don't ride it too much they might start checking and my top secret tourist activity will be ruined.

PM me if you want my 'see SF in a day' google map. It requires a car.

golden gate bridge. walk it or drive.
then you're in sausalito (like a small pier 39)
Around the same area is park presidio with some old forts and barrack(sp)
Union square(the tree is up).
China town, next to north beach.

What side of town are you planning to focus on?

Stay away from Union Square and Chinatown if you are type-A.

There is also indoor ice skating(and bowling) at Yerba Buena gardens, in case it's raining.

You can have an ocean sunset dinner at the Cliff House, but that won't be cheap.

Cha Cha Cha's or Thirsty Bear are also worth checking out.

Golden Gate Heights Park. You gotta climb on foot only. It's not in the tour guides. Even locals don't know about it. 360 degree panoramic views.

This is just north of SF and its not open all the time but it is a must see if you are in the area. You won't believe how many people don't know its there even though they live there.

http://www.nps.gov/goga/nike-missile-site.htm

You can even ride the missile platform(with the missile) down into the silo. Way cool !!
It is the only restored Nike missile site in the entire country.
