i.e. high gloss would mean a greater than usual or expected bright glistening sheen,

and

matte-like sheen would be in between a non reflective surface and a soft reflected light.

Devil's Advocate here..

All words = same except for matte.

I think she knows what you're trying to say and what you mean, but she's an English nut and feels like you could have said it in a way that didn't come across as "I only like non-shiny shiny things".

But I totally know what you mean by matte-like sheen.
