yes, you're right. SCCA & NASA don't endorse the bars. the thing to bear in mind when purchasing a bar is whether they'll pass tech for the respective organizations and events. that's one reason why i haven't just gone w/a Cusco or Stand 21--? as far as i know, those don't pass. it's highly doubtful that i'll track my S, but i'd like to give myself the option if ever decide to bring it out there.

i don't like to settle either, which is why i also don't want to get a bar w/a removable crossbrace or omitted crossbrace. the more i look into it, seems like significant compromises do have to be made to keep the interior intact.

You neglected to mention that you were ordering a hard dog when we spoke about it last Friday. I might reconsider my stance on the hard dog depending on the cost. I, too, don't want to butcher my interior.
