One more question - is there only one novice run group? Or are there more?

If my brother also wanted to participate, but we only have one car, I'd guess that we'd have to split the runs for our single novice group? Or if there are two (or more) novice run groups, could we share the car for the different novice run groups and both have a full driving day?

I was prompted to ask this question because of this option in the Online Reg form. "Car will be driven in the same run group by another driver". Perhaps I'm misinterpreting the point of this inquiry though.

Thanks for answering more questions.

If you were to run with NASA, Speedventures or some Shiz, there are typically 4 run groups. Peeps in group one usually request an instructor and basically no passing for all session's.

Group two is still considered novice, but allowed limited passing in the last two session's.

Group three is Intermediate. Allowed limited passing in the first 1-2 session's, then more liberal passing for the rest of the day.

Group four is Advanced. If I remember correctly, group four is open for passing all session's during the day.

Group's three and four are about the same, a lot of peep's from G4 run in G3.

Sometimes I think it is safer to run in G4 than in G3, cause all the nutty driver's from G4 run G3

I have never done G1 or G2. I have always done 3 or 4. You could do G1, and your buddy could do G2

I'll be using my original OEM wheels (w/ RE050s) and stock brakes.

Maybe it's best my brother doesn't come this time as the double duty sounds like it'll be tough on the car?

Is this your first track day? If so, you may be able to get away with stock brake pads, but I definately recommend you change you brake fluid to ATE super Blue or some kind of high performance DOT 4 brake fluid.

It will be my first time. Thanks for the good tip on the brake and fluid upgrade.

I'll have to give Terry a call for help!
