Group Drive for Novice Drivers?

You could meet in the parking lot of the Mormon Church or Greek Church off Route 13 at the Lincoln/Joaquin Miller exit. Large staging area-plenty of parking. Or one exit south is Redwood and there is a Safeway on the East side of 13. Both are easy access to Skyline Blvd. How many hours do you want to ride?? I am familiar with all routes and have taken the drives. Can't wait to do it with others. Just remember, lots of bikers and bicyclists. Not going to be VVROOOM VROOOOOm..... just real sweet!!!!

As Ina says, the road is a lot of fun to drive, but it won't be for extreme cornering -- there are too many bicycles and motorcycles for really fast driving, but it's still a great drive, especially for the purpose described. And count me in -- I'll be happy to join you.

Time: 8/18 (Sat) 10am
Meet at:
Greek Orthodox Church
4700 Lincoln Ave, Oakland, CA 94602
(510) 531-3400
Start at:
Skyline Blvd/Pinehurst Rd
Map:

turn right to Seven Hills Rd ->
turn right to Lake Chabot Rd ->

580 N exit Golf Links Rd towards 98th Ave ->
Golf Links Rd becomes Skyline ->
Skyline/Pinehurst
This drive should take less than 2 hours. If people are willing we can try to have a lunch nearby. Someone told me it is kinda fun to drive at Pinehurst Rd. We can stay there for a while after the drive, too.
I will start another thread and see how many people are interested.

We may drive over to church to meet everyone via the long and winding road from Moraga through Canyon (Pinehurst) up to Skyline and down to church.. Anyone from Contra Costa interested in this "pre-ride" with us???
