ok, one week later ande I finally have dsl service again. Damn, its so damned tough to go from broadband to dial up.
So far things have been good, and as Pll mentioned, even the temperatures have gone up. Started at 32 but now the days are around 45-50 with a wind chill of around 20 or so, very tolerable so long as you dont feel any wind.
I will be out here through June as many of you already know, so if any of you all are coming out to Shanghai for any reason...look me up! And send a msg to me if you need ny help planning. I know rwd-rct plans to be here in a few weeks i think. anyone else?
Shanghai is a really interesting city with a colorful history. It has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with influence from previous colonial-type experiences. The economy is booming like that of the past few years in silicon valley. Thus, there are interesting opportunties here for those who can handle the change in culture etc...not sure I can hang yet, but interested to see what happens.
Sorry, Whites2k, no planned bike ride here...not even a bike yet for me. traffic is pretty darned interesting. agressive driving yet so few accidents, amazing what happens when drivers actually have to go though driver training courses before being allowed to get on the road.
i'll see if i can post pics in the next few days. for now, i am glad i am on broadband and dont need to stay in some smoky internet bar to surf s2ki.

Hi Ed, Glad to see you are safe and settling into your new digs.....or is that crib??? I am so old and unhip!! Hopefully by the time you return I will be driving the S2K. Maury is not real happy about teaching me on the S2K and would prefer I learn on my girlfriend's Camry. Let me mess up her clutch. Be safe and I love hearing about your experiences over there. I've never been to that part of the world. You are fortunate for the exposure to such a different lifestyle. Oh and PS----Blair Morrow from Sacramento sold his S2K......good news, her bought a 2003 Yellow one!!! Bye for now. Ina
