Greddy Turbo install opinions

Greddy Turbo install opinions
I'm located in Concord, so I decided to visit TwinCam for the convenience factor.
He quoted me at ~4300 for the greddy turbo kit, 1500 for kit install = 6360 installed+tax
Then turbo timer, dual pillar pod, and boost controller for 650 installed + tax
Obviously I'd like to pay as little as possible without sacrificing quality of product and installation.
What is everyones opinions on this? Know of better deals? 1500 for installation seems steep, I wasn't expecting that amount. However, I realize it costs money to play w/ the FI crew, so I'm not necessarily complaining.
Thanks in advance

Are you dead set on the Greddy kit? Aside from that, If you are pretty handy with tools I think you could do it yourself. Also BlackTrax is great for tuning or any other problems. I took my Greddy turbod s2k when I had it there.

Wiring the boost control is probably the most difficult part in my opinion since I suck with electronics. The actually hardware part shouldn't be horribly difficult. If you have any doubts about yourself then just take it to a reliable shop to have it installed, but I wouldn't buy the kit from them, I'd buy directly from Japan it's cheaper 99% of the time.

This kit is a pretty basic install and if you know your way around with hand tools it shouldn't be a problem if you're willing to take a day to do the work yourself.
Or you might be able to bribe and s2ker to come n help you out with it.

I'm beginning to lean towards the DIY route. While I'm definitely not a mechanic I know my way around an engine. Yes, some help would be awesome but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
I think I'm going to buy the kit + extras for now and figure out what I want to do from then. Thanks for weighing in guys!

1500 for an install is steep buddy.. it's pretty straight forward install and any shop would love to capitalize on it, but the fact of the matter is, that it's far too easy to charge that kinda dough....
Better be thinking about upgrades ASAP, with turbo comes a hefty amount of stress... ask anyone .. i'm going through all kinds of hell right now~
Remember to get the manifold coated.. if you don't remember to keep your receipt for the kit handy, or else greddy will just hang up on you

I installed my CTSC over a weekend taking my time after getting quotes from install shops in the 1K+ range. I saved some money and it was a lot of fun actually and having the satisfaction of doing it yourself is priceless.
