Default Got a ticket

My headlights were off! (8:30pm, not too dark, I could see everything easily) I _ALWAYS_ have my headlights on, day and night, I must have turned them off occasionally (somehow during turning??).

Is it a point on the license?

Then, all done, he did not turn his f***ing projector off and it was really hard for me to go back to the road and safely see the cars behind him because it was very blinding. I consider this as a very RUDE and DANGEROUS thing. Also, during our conversation he was not polite (I know that polite police officers actually exist!). And yeah, he was also disgustingly fat.

I thought the law stated that you had to have your lights on 30 minutes after dusk and 30 minutes before dawn, but I just looked in the Vehicle Code book and couldn't see anything other than "During darkness" (24250).

You need to find out what time sunset was on the evening of the ticket, compute how many minutes away from sunset you were, and use that as evidence when you go to court to get the ticket dismissed. Sunset today (July 13) is listed at 8:31, so you should be able to beat this ticket. If the sun hadn't set yet and it wasn't overcast, you should be able to easily get out of this one.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone for advices.

Well it was actually cloudy and I looked at the time on the ticket it was 21:07, I didn't think it was that late.
Anyway I'll try to plead not guilty by mail, just for the experience. I'll write that I had my headlights on and I always have my headlights on day and night and it is the first thing I always do when I get in the car (and it is true) and that I switched off my lights when I parked on police officer's request because I always switch off my headlights when I park (also true).
Hopefully the court procedures are too complicated or costly for the court when somebody pleads not guilty.

Typically headlights are required 1/2 hr BEFORE sunset! Never after, as it gets dark REAL fast after sunset.
