ben, did you try going to the apple store? my girl's ipod wouldnt even turn on one day, basically a dead harddrive. so she took it to an apple store and they reset it for her. not sure if you have the same problem, but if theres anythin else i can help with, let me know.

yea sometimes apple store just gives u a new ipod if u have a broken one. like if its one of the older generations that arent selling anymore.
