Sorry to hear. Was wondering if anyone has gotten a ticket for the Comptech or Vortech SC even though they are CARB legal also. I would hate the hassle of getting the ticket fixed if they don't even care if it's CARB legal.
i was thinking about that too

they'll pop the hood and be like whats all this! but its all legal right? haha

I think the point I was trying to make is that we shouldn't be hassled at all in the first place. What we do with our cars should be our business as long as we don't go out on the road and put ourselves or other people in danger.

The only problem is so many people do go out on the street and put a lot of people in danger by doing stupid things and that's what ruins it for everybody...

To a certain point this is true... test pipes do 'technically' put other people in danger(emissions). Plus more agressive driving, due to some mods, do put others in danger as well. Who here drives less aggresive after they have modded ther suspension, or want to hear there intake/exhaust in a tunnel or under an over pass?? None of us....... Personally coming from a different state, california has many other problems with drivers than modded cars, ie: speeding is huge here, plus cell phone usage while driving (had my fair share of unattentive drivers due to this) and signaling is non-existant here. But if your not caught in the act, why be pulled over and get bent over to take it??? Ohh well I guess this is the new for of prejudice......

Anyone know what the ref checklist looks like? I too find it hard to believe that out of all the mods, a CAI is enough to suspect other more illegal mods. That's like saying that if you have a bottle cap opener on your keychain, you are required to do a sobriety check two weeks from when you get pulled over. I'm sure that there is some discrimination given age, type of vehicle, and perhaps ethnicity to some degree, but after HIN in San Jose, enforcement was a free for all. Big problems seem to stem from lack of education and no open lines of communication. For example, many people don't understand the need or want to modify our vehicles, and at the same time, those who do mod may not fully understand the impact mods have to safety, reliability, and the environment.

I agree with you that there are a lot of people doing dumb things within our age group. But they shouldn't be allowed to ruin it for everyone else right? I'm talking about people of all ages.
