going to attempt a trial by written declaration myself. However it's not going to be very convincing....just hoping the officer doesn't give a response.

Had to miss work to go to traffic court, I ran a red light back in sept.; difficult to explain. Nonetheless the cop didn' show up and not guilty by default!

Yahoo! I've got a clean record, but still plan to fight the speeding ticket i got a couple weeks ago on 280, was going 80mph....
i got off on allegedly rolling a stop sign from the cop not showing up...

a couple years later i got a bullshit carpool violation for $496. trial by declaration was not an option...

OP, i have a question for you. Did the judge wait to try your case at the very end because the cop was not present when you first got called to the stand? the judge in palo alto did this to me, i got off, but took 2 hours of waiting...i figured the judge was trying to buy time for the cop to show up.

btw, in this economy, and with the state budget crisis...cops are in revenue raising mode (tickets and fines).

be careful out there.

are the cops to lazy to do trial by declaration?
According to ticket assasin, cops get overtime for going to court in person but don't get OT for fighting trial by declarations.

And if you lose the TBD, you can get a retrial automatically, giving you 2 separate chances to beat the ticket.

How is this possible? You had a passenger and somehow still got the ticket?
