Doesn't hurt to fight it, it's a win-win situation, if the cop doesn't write a report back, then you're off. Sure he was speeding, but remember, cops aren't above the law

This is what I heard:
1) If you fight it in court (i.e. plead not guilty), you still have to pay the fine. But, you get your money back IF you win. Versus pleading guilty in court where the judge may reduce the fine amount.
2) Cops have incentives to show up in court and tell their side of the story. According to my friend who wants to be a CHP, they get paid overtime to do those.
I would just pay it and go on with your life. What's that saying? "If you can't do the time..."
