Since I'm constantly filming solo and group drives, I thought I would put together a little video highlighting the different angles and mounting locations I have been using. This is by no means inclusive of every possible mount location in the s2000, but it gives a good sense of the variety of possibilities. Hope this is helpful to someone down the road. I got a little overwhelmed with the i-movie editing process and just cut the movie short by the end instead of being a perfectionist, but it should do the job.
The only video cameras I used in this video were the GoPro Hero and Flip Mino.

Casey, this is a great video filled with your time & resources put towards testing. Thanks for sharing your output & now I can isolate a few areas that I wanted to try out. I still have yet to buy a camera & not sure which one I want. When I do get one, I'll be referencing to this for sure!

I think the standards are going with a GoPro or Contour. I really don't know much about the variety of options. My understanding is that the advantage of the contour is probably the GPS tracking, which then you can use for cool overlays. The i phone data logging on the car probably produces more data overall though. The viewing angles of the cameras is another factor to consider. Now I'm getting in over my head!
