July 09 I paid 15.7K for an 04 with 61K. Front bumper had a nick, and I replaced it for $250. Otherwise just regular wear.

I suspect many people here will tell you 'you can find it much cheaper' but I'd be interested to know what kind of deal they got on their cars. Some locals have bought cars and to get nice ones it's not 'give away'. Local honda dealer says they haven't had a nice one on their lot in 2-3 months. If they do get one, it's gone in a week, or two tops.

If they're disappearing so fast, this means demand exceeds supply which means the prices aren't ultra low. All these comments on pricing seem to conflict with each other.
My experience is the opposite--they aren't disappearing.

Most dealers are holding their s2k's for at least 3 months. One dealer in HMB has had their s2k for 8-9 months now. Fairfield Honda had an '03 w/ 1 owner 48k miles AND it was GPW white/tan and they were willing to let it go for around $14k (they had it for 3 months as well). San Rafael Mitsu has had 2 or 3 AP1s for 3 months now too...

The only thing slow is getting new stooks onto the lot. But once they are on the lot, they stay for a long while. I know because I've been shopping for a s2k quite seriously for almost a year now.

I'm kicking myself about the GPW I missed.

Like I said, it was there for 3 months. Originally listed at around $18k. They came down to $14 after 3 months of no interest.

Most (not all, but most) s2k's in general just sit on the lots for a few months nowadays. It may pick up in spring, maybe?

so i've checked out the s2k in San Rafeal. boy oh boy what a mess. the car basically has little scratches every where. and the guy was honest and told me how much he bought the car for and other information, i actually got to see the paper works.

so i guess i'm out of luck again...

do you guys know anyone who is selling?

I second the motion on looking around down here

There are a lot of S2000s around... if you buy private, you'll most likely get a back story to the car too.

oh yeah i definitely would like to buy from a private sellers, but i just haven't seen any thing around the bay yet.

although i saw a couple of private sales online with high millage or salvaged titles, which are definitely not my choices.

In this economy the deals are out there..but you have to be patient and wait for the right car. Good Luck.

definitely be patient and the right deal will come. expect 00-03 to go for 9k-13k, 04-05 12k-16k, 06+ for 17k+. this is about average. so plus or minus depending on other factors like condition, mileage, etc. if i see anything worth while ill send it your way.
