Ehh I haven't tried Famous Daves out here, but the ones in Chicago, the ribs were ALWAYS too dry, and not tender enough.

Surprisingly the ribs at Elephant Bar are WONDERFUL. They fall right off the bone.

Southern Heritage BBQThere is also this other hole in the wall place in Fremont, that had good ribs.

Ribs at Chilis are always pretty standard

Ribs at Claim Jumper in Fremont is also pretty good. They are huge.

I'm from Chicago, so I'm your typical midwestern beef eater. Haven't found anything out here yet that makes me excited. But Elephant bar's ribs are the best I've found so far.

Edit - ALL of the above are not dry rub. Dry rub is good, but I love a good BBQ sauce. Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce is the best stuff.

For a chain, Houston's are pretty good.

If I have time, I prefer to make them myself, but mine are not dry style.

Sam's BBQ in San Jose is really good... it's on Bascom a few blocks north of Hamilton.

And I've heard there is a hole in the wall place in Milpitas on Main or Abel, under the 237 overpass, but I've never been there.

Quick Reply: Good place for BBQ Ribs.
