Try Gombei in Menlo Park, at El Camino and Santa Cruz. Homestyle Japanese food. One of the best.

Miaki = Sushi
If you wan't to go to a club, go to a club. If you wan't to eat sushi, head directly across the street to Fuzion.

casa isabel on park....good reasonably priced mexican food....kinda feels like home...
my wife and i have lived in palo alto for 30 years...eaten at most places both new and extinct..no disrespect ment but except for an occasional mid-afternoon lunch at il fornio we won't even go near university ave these days.....
deli sandwichs at jj&f [college at el camino]-take 'em to a local park and sit under a tree.
specal long lunch-the cafe at cantor art museum [sit outside if possible]
extra special long lunch-buck's of woodside..the only local spot were a 360 modena parks next to a prius next to a pair of horses tied to the hitchin' post....and nobody notices.
ok food with entertainment;
stanford hospital cafeteria...no,really...
babe alert tressider union on stanford campus [extra points for a warm day]
bon appitit

I personally would not recommend Miaki.
