Default Going to Vancouver and need tips...

Like the title says, I will be going to Vancouver for a week and a half. I have a few questions so if any of you have visited Vancouver lately or any Canandians can help a fellow member out.

1. I know I can pay with US dollar or charge everything with a Visa, but I prefer to pay with Canandian dollar; where can I receive currency exchange for free or for a low fee? I don't know if our banks like BofA will do it here.

2. What is there to do other than shopping in Vancouver? I'll be in Richmond, Burnaby, and Vancouver.

Not much you can do if it's raining, other than go to a mall.

But if it's not raining, tons of stuff to do.
visit 1. Capilano bridge 2. Go hike up Grouse mtn.
3. Or if you don't want to hike, take the gondola

Ditchmond is overrated, Burnaby is ok. While in YVR go check
out Stanley park, Spanish beach (?), Granville island.
And while you're already in BC go visit the Vancouver Island i.e. Victoria
and other 'burbs.
I'd invite you to visit my place in White Rock but it's under renovation
so scratch that off.

Other than that, Hang out, Have fun, check out the Canuck chickas and
go eat out.

Thanks BobbyS2k. I forgot mention that I've been to Vancouver once and just like to see if there are other things to do. I've also been to Victoria and took that ferry ride. Pretty cool because I was able to drive my rental onto the ferry. Thanks again.

I'll be there in about a week and I hope it doesn't rain there.

Stanley park, Granville island. --Agreed!

While you are there have a Bellini and an order of fries with cheese and gravy,.. Mmmmm so good!

For cash just use the ATM in BC,.. you bank will give you the best conversion rate.

There are places all over downtown (Robson St) that perform conversions of cash with US dollars. If you go a little bit from the main streets, you might get a better rate. It's almost 1:1 now anyways.

In Vancouver, just check out the ladies. Granville Island, Stanley Park, Granville St for clubs.

Richmond, head over to the night market, which I think is open now.

There's not much shopping wise you can get there that you can't get here.

Have fun, I love just lounging in Vancouver.

From when I lived in Seattle we went up to Vancouver a few times. Robson street: lots of shops, and kind of 'the strip' you could say. I agree on the Bellini's we had them at Milestones on Robson. Stop by A&J Racing while you are up there! Are you driving up? Basically all I remember about Vancouver was to 1: go shopping with the GF and 2: Drinking before we were 21. Oh bring me back some Codeine! They sell it over the counter up there!

Have Fun!! The weather should be good! Go to Whistler if you want to drive a bit more!

Go to Butchart Gardens if you are in Victoria again. It is actually about 10 miles north of Victoria but the gardens are absolutely amazing... And I hate flowers too!
