Turns out that getting people to remove the grass with machinery is about the same cost as the goats, but is less environmentally sound. It turns out the goats are ISO compliant, while standard use-gas-powered-machines to remove brush is not.

"It would be a tremendous cost," Budzinski said. "Hand crews would be two or three times as much, if not more. This place is funded with taxpayer dollars. We have to do what's most cost-effective."
