Glass softtop Really?

So I went to a shop in Santa Clara today to get a quote - glass window soft top for my 00 s2000....comes out $2200 + TAX including installation. It is aftermarket - dont even know what product he is going to use and it does not include frames/motor stuff. Really? Seriously? How come it is more then a dealer? Any place that does soft top installation that you guys know of?

Agreed, labor isn't cheap!

Not that it can't be done but it might not be worth it in the long run, or at least get someone to help who's done it before. My concern would be installing it incorrectly and ripping it on the first time putting it up.

Maybe we should schedule a day like sat sun when everyone is ready to change their tops and do it all together we can share tools and all other stuff oh and beers hahaha. I am printing out DIY that I've collected..

I'm not ready to buy a new top yet. I'm always willing to help with the install as long as I'm free.
