I think in due time they will become a classic. Reason I believe this to be true is my wife bought her G35 for 13k which is a 2003 and today with 20k more it's only worth $9k and some change. 6 months after she got her car I bought my s for just under $12,500 and when I KBB the car it actually comes up $1,3XX more than what it was when I purchased it two years ago and with roughly 10,000 miles more than it had.

As far as mods go I couldn't see them affecting the car unless it was necessary to cut the car up to fit wheels and so on. The beauty of these cars is they don't need much to look good, Everything I have in/on my car could be taken off in a matter of a day if needed. Aside from my rear bumper, I'm stuck with that shit lol.

I think the S2000 will be a classic for sure. Especially since we are seeing the 90's Hondas are very cool to see all clean and straight with mods or not I love seeing the golden era Hondas. I have no intention on ever selling mine either, but mine will not be the "all original" one haha

It's a matter of time. Literally. 30-49 years old constitutes a classic car, and for Monterey, it's much closer on the 49-year end of business. Plenty of imports and domestics have shown, if not competed. Right now, there's two categories where Japanese classics might show: L-2 - Postwar Preservation and O - Postwar sports racing. Both of those (I imagine) are insanely difficult to compete in right now, especially since you'd be right in the scrum of French, Italian, and British sports cars.

I'm not saying it won't happen, but I'm not holding my breath for a 2000GT to clean house in Monetery or Amelia Island either.

The S2K should be perceived in the same light as MG MGB, Sunbeam Tiger, Alfa Romeo Spider and various other 2-seater performance engineered roadsters. Not going to be a top dollar rarity, rather an enthusiast's favored car with value based on the demand of the enthusiasts and the supply of what's left after enough of them have been totaled from tank slapping snap oversteer.

Didn't include AC Cobra because the S2 doesn't have a legacy like Carroll Shelby
Didn't include Miata simply because of the huge production volumes
