More information on the SSR wheels. Since this is a discontinued series, I thought I would add some additional information here.
These are HIGH END wheels. I originally paid about $3200 from Tire Rack for just the wheels. They are LIGHT WEIGHT 3 piece wheels and were one of the last wheel designs given S2000 fitment before SSR went bankrupt and was acquired by Tannabe.
They are 18" wheels. There are those that will argue that 17" wheels are ideal for the S2000, and while that may be true for the track, I think the belief mostly stems from people who don't want to shell out another $200 per wheel but maintain their "exclusivity status". Aestethically, 18" wheels are beyond reproach on an S2000.
These wheels have a SATIN SILVER FINISH on the spokes. That means that they're easy on the eyes without outblinging the rest of your car. But don't worry, there is a 1.5" POLISHED LIP that makes a statement, while maintaining an adequate clearance for a wide variety of brake upgrades with NO SPACERS REQUIRED.
You'll want a nice set of rotors to sit behinds these SSRs because with the OPEN WHEEL DESIGN, you can see every brake component behind the wheel very clearly. The last thing you want is to have a beautiful set of wheels that nobody sees because of your rusted ass OE rotors sitting directly behind them. I recommend the zinc plated EBC dotted and slotted rotors.
These wheels INCREASE WHEEL GAP on stock springs. There is NO RUBBING WHATSOEVER on a stock suspension setup. If you are lowered more than an inch, have some hoopty sub in the trunk, and plan to keep the 265 tires on the rears, then I recommed that you ROLL YOUR REAR FENDERS. If you want to stretch a smaller size out, you'll need to be particularly vigilant of curbage danger. I found this out the hard way, which is one reason I put S-O3s on. The S-03 is one of the best performance tires you can put on your rears bar none. I've had Toyo T1-S, Bridgestone S-02, and Goodyear Eagle F1, and the S-03s gave me the best grip and handling predictability out of all of them. These are HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES. They wear out fast as a result. If you can't put nice tires on these wheels, and maintain a safe tread depth, then you can't afford these wheels. If you can't afford to pay me $1600, then you can't afford these wheels.
