Yeah I didn't notice a difference when I had the comptech strut. With or without it. I heard/read the cross member itself does alot of the stiffening already.

Everyone has a different sensitivity to these things, that doesn't dictate whether you're a good or bad driver.. Car setup may also influence what is felt or not felt.

 

I also have driven the car at both places with and without the bar. Doesn't seem to make a difference in my opinion either.

Gotcha, I know I noticed a huge difference on my scirocco but that was a wet noodle in comparison to the S. I didn't notice any difference in the Camry either but I think that may have been due to the crappy TRD design.

I wonder if people that notice a difference have lower bracing like subframe bracing or something like that that enhances the stiffness of the upper portion.

I've driven in a car that had a fake ASM like tower bar that connected to the steering rack and that was noticeable.

 

I can't comment on the strut tower bar without an x brace.

 

Mac - I think it makes a big difference on some cars, but not the S.

I do have the CT Engineering lower X Brace. Along with everything else they make for the S. Except for exhaust.

That brace doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me because of how the forces are directed and how that bar connects. On a strut suspended car the upper arm leverage point is the strut mount and in a corner the outside wheel pulls that mount away from the other mount or at least that's how I see it.

On our car the upper shock mount doesn't do any pulling away but it can move up and in from compression.

I do think that the ASM bar would make a difference because of the design.
