Yes, "it does matter", when trying to fit a strut bar over a K&N FIPK. Do your research first.

I'd advise against any strut bar that has a design other than just a plain solid design. These adjustable and pivoting bars seem to defeat the purpose (improved rigidity).

I have a Gladman Performance strut bar.
Fits perfect over my K&N FIPK.
Comes with a cool heat shield too.

I can say that I felt a small difference with this part, even after installing an x-brace. It's hard to describe, but a bit more connectivity is felt. Also the way the car goes over uneven road surfaces and bumps mid-turn is improved. Perhaps a bit more understeer bias as well.

You can find it here:

Not my pic, but this is the same part, with the same intake:

Again, not my pic, but he also makes some cool little engine dress up cover things:

Ah. That's the one I should have gotten over the Password JDM strut bar. It's currently rubbing against the K&N FIPK, and I see a little wear on the part it rubs. eklipz's strut bar seems to fit just fine.

I have a Cusco ALC OS front strut bar that fits perfect with the K&N FIPK. It's a flat bar with carbon fiber wrap. The ends are gunmetal and match the Silver stone very well. I bought the rear one together as a pair for a fair price. As far as performance, doesn't do much but it does look pretty and makes for a nice arm rest when doing maintenance.

The wrinkly black finish is a nice texture and doesn't leave you feeling too guilty as the grime builds. And in my engine bay, grime builds. It makes for a nice hand warmer on a cool night. Never too hot.

Jordan, who makes them, is a pleasure to work with and had very good customer service when working with my mom, who bought the item!

I have the same bar, and have the same feedback about it (I don't have a lower brace). It fits over the K&N, and it reduces flex over mid-corner bumps and when taking driveways at angles. Slight increase in understeer response when going over rough bumps. Little to no difference on smooth pavement (like the track). I recommend it for backroad driving on rough roads, but a strut bar is probably unnecessary for track cars.

Because our cars don't have struts, the bar serves only as a chassis brace and has little direct impact on the functioning of the suspension.
