I don't use a front license plate because my S is parked in my garage and is not my DD. I'm in richmond/Pinole area but travel the bay area.

In the East Bay, I didn't have my front plate on for a few years, got pulled over for "speeding" didn't get a ticket for it (since I wasn't, cop was guessing) and got cited for my front plate. I had it on for a while, took it off the other day to wash the car & haven't put it back on since. But I've never had it in the stock location.

So once in 4 years (1 year of having it on) isn't bad.

I took my front plate off last night and ordered my bumper caps this morning I must say, the car looks so much better w/o it. I left the front plate on in MD bc I was in school and campus cops had nothing better to do than harass ppl.

If you live in the Bay Area, order online:
http://www.hondapartscheap.com/southbay/jsp/home.jsp

Spa AP1 bumper plugs (90672-S2A-A00ZF) cost $3.76 each for me. You can also save on shipping if you pick-up locally.

Car looks much cleaner without the front plate but I'm still debating how much crap I'll get from Milpitas and San Jose cops or not.

Shipping is a big drawback for something that small. I wonder how much my local dealer charges. I live in the SF area.

the cops in the SF and Marin will absolutely cite it for no front plate. the fix it ticket is no longer "free". it will cost you a process fee and some other revenue generating BS.

the car looks much more cleaner without the plate without a doubt, but its your choice to whether pay and get harassed, or just get with it.

actually the car looks pretty clean with the plate located to the side by using a plate relocating bracket, so you still get the look and avoid potential problems.
