I run a front plate because I do not want to have a good reason to be pulled over. I live in the SF area.

Do you Bay Area owners rock front plates or no?

State your city and if you have any stories of trouble/fines/tickets/etc...
I got my 4th one this year...All in SF. $10, $10, $25, and $0 due wrong license plate written on citation. It is $105 if you don't correct and have an officer sign off your citation. I still drive w/out a front plate. It's just a fixing ticket. $10 or $25 depends what part of SF.

Never ran a plate from the very day it was picked up at the dealer. When it was in the show room I requested the dealer to remove the original LP bracket so I could apply the blue tape

I have driven my 2006 without a front plate since buying it new and have never been cited (even when getting cited for speed related incidents ) but I almost never take it into the city especially if would need to leave it parked. Not worth the chance of theft or door dings.

I anticipate that those that are heavily modded or with loud exhausts are more likely to get cited than a mild mannered version.

This information is correct & same in my experience. However, I've found with the more extreme I go with an aftermarket bumper, the less hassle I get.
