usually cops come back and ask if you have your current reg.
i gave a cop an expired reg before and he came back and asked if i had the current reg.
sucks that we had to encounter those two last night

Lesson learned: never keep an expired registration in the car...
About the no front license plate, I had to go through the same thing last time. Got it signed off then went to the court to pay it then took it
off again when I got home.

you have 2 options..
Option #1 fix it and have it signed off
i think you have to pay like 10$ for fix it tickets
Option #2 set up a court date and fight it.
If you take it to court it will get dismissed cause the citation not even for you, it's your friend. But you have to waste time and go to court.

So you are saying the ticket is not really for you cause your name is not on it. =)

How sure are you that it'll get dismissed? Will the judge just dismiss it because my name isn't on it?

I'd fight it on principle. Put the license plate on and set a court date. Even if the cop shows up, which he won't, when the judge hears your side of the story he will dismiss the charges and fees.

Edit: The fact that your friend's name is on the ticket is another reason you should fight it. Not only did the cop site the wrong person, but now your friend is liable which will make you look like a jerk to your friend if you do nothing to help correct the citation.

fight it!!! i've seen this type of stuff happen all the time! trust me. i go to traffic courts A LOT. worst case scenario, you get a fine. best case the judge dismisses the second ticket and you pay nothing. that alone is worth it going to court in my book.

-blue (too lazy to go to my account )

What I'm worried about is that if I do in fact lose the case, will I get fined even more like cpx said? I'm okay with paying 25 if I have to, even if it was unfair. However I do not want to pay 163 bucks if I lose.

Annnd, if I decide to fight the ticket(s), should I pay off the first one, or just fight them both on the same basis that the name isn't even correct?
