first of all, sorry about myu poor English
and...I got a mail fromSuperior Court Of California TODAY.
it say I gotta do one of the following on or before the due date(02/21/05, the dealine on ticket is 02/02/05 so the dealine on ticket is the due date I have to sign them off? I thought that's the time I should pay and finish this citation)
1.pay the fine stated aboce in person, by us mail. on-line at www.sfgov.org/courts, or by phone at 415-553-9400.
2.appear at the hall of justice, room 101 to chedule a court hearing.
3. show proof of correction (if correctable) and pay the $10.00 (I think this is the one I need)
4. request traffic school.

I think I paid too early, I thought the due date on the ticket is the time I should pay, damn......
so I think I should bring this paper to the office again tomorrow and ask for the refund and clean my record if they put "1 point" on my record.

thx a lot for help guys.........

Honestly I hate tickets for this kind of stuff I think it is just stupid. I had 3 cops sitting n the side of the road on Sunset Blvd. flag me down to pull over I thoght maybe a sobriety check or something, no they were flagging people for no front plates. When the cop told me that I flat out said, you are ing kidding me right? Three cops to give me a fix it ticket for no front plate?" He just said "It's the law." I realy wanted to say way to protect and serve but I didn't think of it till it was too late.

I went to the office again, the result is no money refund, but they cleaned my record. they seriously put "1 point" on my record for a fix-it ticket. and they told me again the exhaust ticket is not correctble, I told her the cop said he's writing me a fix-it ticket, but she said the cop was wrong WTF.
btw clean record is good enough for me, and becareful if you have a "modefied exhaust", the cops are thirsty.

YOU GOT LIED too....period! The california vehicle code is very clear on this a ticket for a exhaust IS correctable!

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d17/vc40610.htm

You do not meet any disqualifying conditions you're exhuast is correctable.

No. There are different tickets. There is a correctable exhaust violation and a non correctable violation, neither are moving violations though.

California vehicle code does not prevent modified exhausts, rather it prevents you from installing an exhaust purely to increase sound. As long as the exhaust under the 95-decibel (a-weighted) noise limit from 20 inches away between 3000-5000 rpm in neutral (13 CCR 1036(d)(1)), it's legal.

See : http://info.sen.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode...ile=27150-27159

27150.7. A court may dismiss any action in which a person is
prosecuted for operating a vehicle in violation of Section 27150 or
27151 if a certificate of compliance has been issued by a station
pursuant to Section 27150.2, or if the defendant had reasonable
grounds to believe that the exhaust system was in good working order
and had reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not
operated in violation of Section 27150 or 27151.

Basically, Owen, you needed to go to court.

27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor
vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted
by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance
with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits
established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with
Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an
exhaust system so modified.

Yup, that's the one you can beat EASILY. However, it might not have been listed as a correctable violation in which case you gotta go to court with papers saying your exhaust is legal or a sound test. FYI, lots of exhausts for the s2k are NOT. 95 DB is not much.
