Fine for no catalytic converter?

Default Fine for no catalytic converter?
I'm curious, isn't the fine for not having a cat converter supposedly $10,000?

Anyone been fined for not having one on their S2K?

I was thinking of getting a test pipe, but with the CEL issues and potential fines, I don't think it's worth it.

imo gain from a tp isnt worth it on a street car, esp a dd one

Cops can fine you if they pull you over and smell it. Its a noticeable smell. I don't know how much the fine is. I don't think its 10,000 though.

no, they issue you a fix-it ticket for it. vince (ap1son) got the ticket before

i think thats a big fine if they find you without a cat, cuz of pollution.
