Missed this on the news... sorry for the victim's family.

Several years ago, a co-worker's son and teen daughter were killed when they were rear-ended by a drunk driver on 680. They burned to death so their viewings were on closed caskets.

These drunk drivers who kill innocent people should be subjected to unusual punishments. Maybe they should be hanged in public... or maybe the victims' loved ones should be given the chance to run them over with a car. Lifetime in jail just won't cut it. No remorse! Pathetic ideas in this day and age but maybe just what is needed to prevent these tragedies.

But that's just me...

It's not even life in prison, the article stated that the guy is going to serve a maximum of like 10 years or something (even less if he gets parole).
He isn't even charged with murder, it's vehicular manslaughter.

10yrs max - is that justice? Without any priors, he will be eligible for parole for sure.

The offender in my co-worker's case was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years imprisonment for taking two innocent young lives. The kids burned to their deaths! The victims' loved ones will suffer for every second that the drunk driver is alive.

These offenders deserve an embarrassing cruel and brutal punishment. An eye for an eye!

I couldn't agree more, less than 10 years for murdering someone is anything but just. The guy should serve the rest of his life in prison.

This is how I see it. It's not an "accident" if someone decides to drive while being intoxicated. It's the CHOICE that the person makes (to drink and drive). I can almost guarantee you that the driver of suv will be released within 10 years. People who get locked up for vehicular manslaughter rarely spend their entire terms in jail. As someone already posted here, if you are buzzed just park your car in a nearby secured parking lot and grab a cab home.

That is really terrible, lets just hope the murderer gets the maximum sentence.

R.I.P. , my condolences to his family.

I also feel bad for the driver's family as they will also suffer
from the driver's stupidity.

One should never drink and drive, it's just plain stupid.
