Extended Warranties For CHEAP!!!
I spoke with Capitol Honda about an offer I got for an extended warranty from Balise Honda and told them that I was quoted $880 for a 5yr/100K no deductible and they said that they would match it as a group rate. but only members of S2KI.com can receive this offer. Is this a Honda Motor of America extended warranty (i.e., honored by all Honda dealers around the nation) or is this just a dealer offered extended warranty (i.e., only good at Capitol Honda)?

nope....this warranty is an extension of the honda factory warranty...it is good anywhere.....everything that is covered in the factory warranty is covered in the extended warranty...i mean dealerships get paid to do warranty work...from what the service dept. tells me...and there has to be a good reason for them to NOT cover something under warranty b/c that wouldnt turn away business....

I might be interested. However, 5 yr is just 2 year additional to the factory warranty. And I don't think I will hit 100K in 5 years for my S2k. How about 7yr/100k? That seems more reasonable.

any other extensions of warranties will vary....but not by much....they will give you a good deal....just let me know..we can all go in together...since im gonna get mine before my 36K is up....i am currently at 34K...

I purchased my car from Capitol Honda not more than two weeks ago. I wasn't planning on getting extended warranty, but the guy wanted to sell it so bad that he basically asked me how much I'd pay for it. I told him a price that I remembered online (wasnt sure if it was right), but anyways, he looked at his sheet and told me he would lose money if he did that. He basically sold me my extended warranty at $100 over his dealercost. (Showed me the spreadsheet of dealer cost & retail).
This deal is only $80 over cost I think. The 7/100 @ cost goes for 1200, which is what I got. if you drive alot, then the 5/100 is a great deal.
